Hi everyone! I’m Sylviane, and I recently enjoyed an amazing 7-day tour through Phuket and Krabi. I booked this tour through Autour Asia - a reputable
Thailand travel agency , and it was incredibly well-organized from start to finish. If you're looking for a worry-free vacation packed with culture, nature, and crystal-clear waters, this itinerary might be perfect for you. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of my journey - hope it helps you plan yours!
1. Day 1: Arrival in Phuket
After a long flight, I arrived at Phuket International Airport where I was warmly welcomed by a local representative from Autour Asia. Meeting them in the arrival hall was easy, and I appreciated the smooth coordination. They guided me to a private car for a comfortable transfer to my hotel in Phuket. The drive allowed me a glimpse of the lush tropical landscapes and buzzing local life. Once I checked into my hotel, I had the rest of the day to relax and unwind. Whether lounging by the pool, sampling Thai snacks from nearby vendors, or taking a short walk to the beach for sunset views, the first day was the perfect introduction to Phuket’s warm hospitality and tropical charm.
2. Day 2: Discover Phuket’s culture & scenic highlights
My second day began early with a hotel pickup at 8:00 AM for a half-day guided tour to explore some of Phuket’s most iconic landmarks. First, we stopped at Karon Viewpoint, one of the island’s best photo spots, offering sweeping views of Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon beaches framed by turquoise seas and lush hillsides. I took plenty of photos here - the view is breathtaking and totally Instagram-worthy.
Next, we headed to the magnificent Big Buddha, a 45-meter-tall marble statue perched on a hilltop, offering not only spiritual significance but also panoramic views of southern Phuket. Walking around the statue, you can hear gentle temple bells and see devotees lighting incense and writing wishes on gold leaves.
Afterward, we visited Wat Chalong, the most important temple on the island, where locals come to pay respects and seek blessings. The temple complex is peaceful and rich in architectural detail. I loved observing the locals pray and learning about Buddhist traditions from our guide.
We also made a stop at a cashew nut factory, where I learned about cashew processing and sampled delicious flavored varieties - a fun, unexpected foodie experience. This tour was incredibly informative and well-paced, with a knowledgeable guide sharing fascinating insights. I returned to my hotel in the afternoon with a deeper appreciation of the island and its cultural roots. In the evening, I explored nearby markets and tried mango sticky rice and pad thai at a beachside restaurant.
3. Day 3: Island adventure to James Bond, Panyee & Hong
This day was the highlight of my Phuket Krabi tour itinerary. After breakfast, I was picked up and transferred to the pier where we boarded a high-speed boat for a full-day island-hopping adventure across the scenic Phang Nga Bay. Our first stop was Phanak Island, where we explored mysterious caves and tranquil lagoons by sea canoe. Paddling through the dark cave passages and emerging into quiet lagoons surrounded by limestone cliffs was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Then we visited the iconic James Bond Island, known for its dramatic limestone karsts made famous by the movie The Man with the Golden Gun. Standing in front of that spire-shaped rock formation was surreal and definitely a bucket-list moment.
We continued to Koh Panyee, a unique floating village inhabited by Muslim fishing families. Walking along the narrow wooden walkways above the water, we saw schools, markets, homes, and even a floating soccer field. I bought a few handcrafted souvenirs and learned about the village’s fascinating way of life.
We later cruised to Hong Island, where we relaxed amidst unspoiled natural beauty. The crystal-clear waters and jungle-fringed limestone cliffs created the perfect setting for a swim or short walk along the beach. Finally, we spent time swimming and sunbathing at the beautiful Naka Island, a peaceful spot to end the day.
The tour included fresh fruit, refreshments, a buffet lunch, and all necessary safety equipment. The guides were engaging, took great care of the group, and even helped with photo-taking. Just remember to bring some cash for the national park entrance fee and waterproof gear for your belongings.
4. Day 4: Scenic transfer from Phuket to Krabi
After a relaxing breakfast, I checked out of my hotel in Phuket and was picked up for a comfortable overland transfer to Krabi. The journey took about 3 hours and featured scenic views of rural Thailand, limestone cliffs, and small local towns along the way. The ride was smooth, and we had a chance to see the changing landscapes between two provinces.
Upon arrival in Krabi, I checked into my new hotel and had the afternoon at leisure. I took this opportunity to walk around Ao Nang, explore the local shops and beach promenade, and enjoy a peaceful sunset by the sea. Ao Nang had a more relaxed pace compared to Phuket, and I enjoyed sitting at a beach bar with a fresh coconut and grilled seafood skewer in hand. I also found some handcrafted local art and souvenirs at a night market nearby.
5. Day 5: Phi Phi islands exploration by speedboat
A must in any Phuket Krabi 7 day itinerary, the Phi Phi Islands did not disappoint. After breakfast, I joined a small-group speedboat tour to the breathtaking Phi Phi Islands. Our first stop was a scenic cruise past the Viking Cave, famous for its ancient drawings and the harvesting of bird nests used in Chinese cooking. Then we reached the world-famous Maya Bay, surrounded by steep cliffs and pristine turquoise water. It recently reopened to tourists with conservation rules in place, and walking on its white sands felt like stepping into a dream.
We snorkeled in Phi Leh Bay, where the coral reefs and marine life were vibrant and colorful. Swimming next to tropical fish in crystal-clear water was a magical experience. After snorkeling, we stopped at Monkey Beach, where wild monkeys roamed freely along the shore. We observed them from a safe distance and snapped a few photos.
Later, we headed to Koh Phi Phi Don for a delicious buffet lunch at a beachfront restaurant. The food was great especially the Thai green curry and fresh fruits. After lunch, we had more time for snorkeling and swimming before heading back. The tour included snorkeling equipment, life jackets, drinks, and an English-speaking guide, who shared interesting stories and made sure we stayed safe. Just like other island tours, park entrance fees were paid separately so keep that in mind when budgeting.
6. Day 6: Krabi nature tour: Hot springs, Emerald pool & Tiger cave
On day 6, I explored the lush tropical interior of Krabi - a nice change from the beach and sea. After breakfast, I joined a small-group eco-tour to some of Krabi’s most enchanting natural attractions. We began with a short hike through a dense rainforest trail, listening to birdsong and spotting butterflies along the way, until we reached the famous Emerald Pool - a dazzling natural spring perfect for swimming. The water had a stunning turquoise-green hue, and I felt completely refreshed after a swim.
Next, we visited the nearby Krabi Hot Springs, where warm mineral-rich waters flowed into natural rock pools surrounded by jungle. It felt like a spa, only better totally natural and peaceful.
After a Thai-style lunch in a local restaurant, we visited the Tiger Cave Temple, an important Buddhist site nestled in limestone hills. While I didn’t climb the 1,237 steep steps to the summit, many people in our group did and returned amazed by the panoramic views. I instead explored the base area where monks meditated in caves and locals offered incense at shrines. It was a deeply serene and spiritual environment.
All transportation, entrance fees, meals, and guide services were included in this well-organized day. For travelers staying on Railay Beach, just remember you’ll need to take a boat to Ao Nam Mao pier to join the group.
7. Day 7: Farewell Krabi & Departure
On my final morning, I savored a relaxed breakfast at the hotel before checking out. A comfortable private transfer then took me to Krabi International Airport, ensuring I arrived well in time for my departure. With that, my incredible 7-day journey through the stunning landscapes of southern Thailand came to a close leaving me with unforgettable memories and a strong desire to return.

How many days are enough for a Phuket and Krabi trip?
How long to stay in Phuket and Krabi? For most travelers, 7 days is the ideal amount of time for a combined Phuket and Krabi trip. This duration allows you to explore the cultural landmarks of Phuket, enjoy scenic viewpoints, take part in guided island-hopping tours (like Phi Phi or James Bond Island), and still have time to relax on the beach or by the pool. Spending about 3–4 days in Phuket and 3–4 days in Krabi offers a balanced experience between vibrant city life and tranquil nature. If you have more time, you can add activities like scuba diving, cooking classes, or even a wellness retreat. For a short visit, a 5-day trip is still doable but would require a more focused itinerary.

When is the best time to visit Phuket Krabi 7 days?
The best time to visit Phuket Krabi 7 days is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. During these months, the weather is warm, sunny, and generally dry - perfect for beach outings, island-hopping, snorkeling, and sightseeing. Sea conditions are calm, making boat tours to places like Phi Phi Islands or James Bond Island much more enjoyable. December through February is considered peak season, so you can expect lively atmospheres, vibrant nightlife, and fully operational tourist services. If you prefer fewer crowds and slightly lower prices, the shoulder months of late November or early April are ideal for a balanced and beautiful tropical getaway.
